Club Universidad de Chile is a professional football club based in Santiago, Chile, that competes in the Primera División.

Founded on May 24, 1927, Universidad de Chile is one of the country's most successful and popular football clubs, having won the league title 18 times. Over the past decade, the team has been crowned champions six times, a run that includes an unbeaten campaign leading to the 2011 Copa Sudamericana title. The team has been associated with the color blue throughout its history; blue also features in its logo, which was officially adopted in 1943. The club shares rivalries with Colo-Colo and Universidad Católica, regularly contesting Santiago derbies known as 'Superclásicos'.

Despite not owning its own stadium, the club typically plays its home matches at the 'Estadio Nacional Julio Martínez Prádanos', located in the Ñuñoa commune of Santiago.

Universidad de Chile won the 2011 Copa Sudamericana. The club's performance in the tournament was outstanding: they remained undefeated, won all their matches played in Chile, and boasted the tournament's all-time record goalscorer (Eduardo Vargas) in their squad. Universidad de Chile has reached the semi-finals of the Copa Libertadores four times (in 1970, 1996, 2010, and 2012).
