Professional Football Club Levski (commonly known as Levski Sofia or simply Levski) is a Bulgarian professional football club based in Sofia. The club competes in the 'First League,' the top division of the Bulgarian football league system. It was founded on May 24, 1914, by a group of high school students and is named after the Bulgarian revolutionary and national hero Vasil Levski.
Levski has won a total of 75 trophies, including 27 national championships, 26 national cups, and 3 super cups. Additionally, they have achieved the 'domestic double' 13 times and the 'treble' once. It is the only Bulgarian football club that has never been relegated from the top division since the league system began in 1937. On the international stage, Levski has reached the quarter-finals of the UEFA Cup twice and the Cup Winners' Cup three times. Furthermore, they were runners-up in the Balkan Cup twice and became the first Bulgarian club to participate in the UEFA Champions League group stage in 2006.
The team's home kit is entirely blue. Levski's home ground is the Georgi Asparuhov Stadium in Sofia, which has a seating capacity of 17,688 spectators. The club's biggest rival is CSKA Sofia; Levski also plays against Slavia Sofia in the capital's oldest derby match, a rivalry dating back to 1915. The club is a regular member of the European Club Association and the European Multisport Club Association.
