Cherno More is a professional football club based in the Bulgarian city of Varna that currently competes in the country's premier football competition, the 'First League'. Established on March 3, 1913, as the football wing of the larger sports society 'SC Galata', the club has spent the majority of its existence playing at the top level of Bulgarian football. Named after the Black Sea, the club is also known by the nickname 'The Sailors'.
Cherno More's home ground is 'Stadion Ticha', which has a seating capacity of 8,250 spectators. Plans were in place to move to a new all-seater stadium by 2020, but construction has been halted due to financial difficulties. As one of the successful Bulgarian football clubs based outside the capital, Sofia, 'The Sailors' have won the Bulgarian championship four times, as well as the Bulgarian Cup and the Bulgarian Supercup once each, both in 2015.
The club shares a long-standing rivalry with its local counterpart, 'Spartak Varna', and matches between the two are commonly referred to as 'The Derby of Varna'.
