
Louisville City Football Club is an American professional soccer club based in Louisville, Kentucky. The team competes in the USL Championship, which is currently the second tier of the American soccer pyramid.
The club was founded in 2014 when the franchise rights for Orlando City's USL team were transferred to Louisville, and it played its inaugural USL season in 2015. After reaching the Eastern Conference Final of the USL playoffs in its first two seasons, the club won the 2017 USL Cup in just its third year of existence. In 2018, they repeated as champions, becoming the first team to win consecutive USL Cup titles. In 2019, they became the first team in USL history to reach three consecutive USL Cup finals, though they lost 1–3 to Real Monarchs.
