The 2026 WNBA season will mark the 30th season of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Following the addition of the Golden State Valkyries in 2025, the league expands from 13 to 15 teams with the inclusion of the Portland Fire and Toronto Tempo—a move first announced in 2024.
In October 2025, the WNBA announced that the Chicago Sky franchise would host the 2026 WNBA All-Star Game and its associated events; this will be the second time the city hosts this major event. The All-Star Game is scheduled for Saturday, July 25, at the United Center, while the Three-Point Contest and Skills Challenge will take place on Friday, July 24, at Wintrust Arena.
This will be the Connecticut Sun's final season in Uncasville, Connecticut, as Houston Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta has purchased the franchise and intends to relocate the team to Houston to revive the Houston Comets.
