The inaugural edition of the T20 Spring Challenge is set to begin on October 11, with WBBL teams Sydney Thunder Women and Brisbane Heat Women playing the first match at the North Sydney Oval ground. The final match of the T20 Spring Challenge will be played on October 20, 2024.
This tournament will serve as a prelude to the much-awaited Women’s Big Bash League 2024. A total of 21 matches including the final will be played over the course of 10 days. The league stages will be followed by the semi-finals and the final.
A total of 9 teams are participating in the T20 Spring Challenge, including Sydney Thunder Women, Brisbane Heat Women, Melbourne Renegades Women, Hobart Hurricanes Women, Sydney Sixers Women, ACT Meteors Women, Adelaide Strikers Women, Perth Scorchers Women, and Melbourne Stars Women.
The teams will play against each other in the same round robin format. The top 4 teams after the league stages will play the semi-final matches. The winners of both the semi-final matches will then participate in the final match.
