The 12th edition of the Asia Cup Hockey will begin in Rajgir, Bihar from Friday, August 29. This continental competition will also be a qualifier for the 2026 Hockey World Cup to be held in Belgium and the Netherlands. Eight teams will participate in this competition. Earlier Pakistan and Oman were to participate in it, but later they withdrew their name, after which Bangladesh and Kazakhstan had to join it.
Format
The continental tournament will feature 8 teams, divided into Pools A and B. The top two teams from each pool will advance to the Super 4 pool stage, where teams will compete in a secondary pool and be ranked one to four. The semifinal line-up will be decided based on the results of the secondary pool, while the bottom two teams from the initial pool stage will play for classification and world ranking points.
