The fifth season of the Andhra Premier League will commence on June 9, 2026, and its grand finale will be played in Mangalagiri on June 30, 2026. Seven teams will face off against each other in a 28-match round-robin league, followed by four playoff matches (the Eliminator, Qualifier 1, Qualifier 2, and the Final); thus, a total of 32 T20 matches will be played in the tournament. The opening match will take place at the ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam between the Simhadri Vizag Lions and the Kakinada Kings, starting at 7:30 PM IST.
This season is bigger than ever before. For the first time, instead of holding all matches at a single venue, the Andhra Cricket Association is organizing them across three different cities Visakhapatnam, Kadapa, and Mangalagiri. The defending champions, the Tungabhadra Warriors who won the 2025 title will aim to win the championship for the second consecutive time this season.
APL 2026 Tournament Format
Seven teams play a round-robin league, and the top four teams in the points table advance to the playoffs. Three points are awarded for every win, one point for a tie or a match with no result, and no points for a loss. If two teams have equal points, their Net Run Rate (NRR) determines which team ranks higher.
