Yashasvi Jaiswal Rohit Sharma, Jaiswal created history by scoring the first century of his Test career. Jaiswal has become the 17th batsman from India to score a century in the debut test.

In the first Test match against the West Indies, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma created history by scoring centuries. Both shared a 229-run partnership for the first wicket, which is the biggest partnership made by India as an opener in the West Indies. By doing this both broke the record made by Sehwag (Virendra Sehwag) and Wasim Jaffer. Together, they added 159 runs for the first wicket in the Test match played in St. Lucia in the year 2006. At the same time, now in Dominica, Rohit and Jaiswal created history by sharing 229 runs for the first wicket.

At the same time, Jaiswal has also become India's first opener batsman to score a century in his debut test abroad. Apart from this, this is the sixth time that both the Indian openers have scored a century in an innings of a Test match on foreign soil.

Jaiswal only the third opener

Yashasvi Jaiswal is only the third opener from India to score a century in a debut test match. Earlier, Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw had done this feat in Tests. Dhawan scored 177 runs in his debut Test match in Kolkata in 2013, while Shaw scored 134 runs in the Test match against West Indies in Rajkot in 2018.

Talking about this Test match, at the end of the second day's play, India has scored 312 runs for 2 wickets. Jaiswal is unbeaten on 143 and Kohli is unbeaten on 36 at the crease. India now has a lead of 162 runs.
