Will Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Be Dropped After Back-to-Back Failures?: 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, currently on the India tour of England 2026, failed to deliver with the bat in two consecutive matches. Fans had been eagerly awaiting his debut for Team India, but he was dismissed for just 14 runs in his first match. Subsequently, in the third T20 played at Nottingham, he was out after scoring 13 runs off 5 balls.

However, he did manage to hit two impressive sixes. It is worth noting that Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was included in the squad as a replacement for Sanju Samson. Given his failure in two straight matches, questions are now being raised about whether his debut was rushed. Will the team management turn back to Sanju Samson, leaving Vaibhav out of the playing XI?

Team India has not managed to win a single match under Shreyas Iyer's captaincy so far. Prior to the England series, India lost the series against Ireland 2-0. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi did not get an opportunity against Ireland. However, despite failing in two matches against England, it is unlikely that Vaibhav will be dropped from the playing XI; the team management appears keen to give him a fair run. Consequently, Sanju Samson may have to wait for his chance for the time being.

That said, Sanju could potentially slot into the middle order in place of Tilak Varma, given Tilak's string of poor performances. As for Vaibhav, the world has already taken note of his explosive batting; although his innings while playing for the senior team for the first time have been brief, he has struck fear into the bowlers during his time at the crease.
