After the review meeting, the BCCI Secretary said, 'Rohit Sharma is playing well; do not fuel rumors.' It is worth noting that there were reports suggesting Rohit would not be included in the squad for the West Indies tour. Rohit currently plays only ODIs for India, having retired from T20s and Tests. India's next ODI series is against the West Indies, scheduled to begin on September 27.

Earlier, during the England tour, reports had surfaced suggesting that the selectors were not considering Rohit for next year's ODI World Cup—claims that the BCCI had dismissed. This created the impression of a lack of clarity between the BCCI and the selectors regarding Rohit's future. It was expected that the situation would be clarified in today's meeting; however, the absence of Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar from this review meeting has raised questions. Speaking to reporters, Devajit Saikia stated that the meeting was convened on very short notice and Agarkar could not attend due to personal reasons.
The agenda of the review meeting also included issues regarding recurring injuries among players and their recovery. After the meeting, BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia said, "Recurring injuries to players are a matter of serious concern; appropriate steps need to be taken to address this."
