At the previous Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, India won a total of 30 medals including 13 golds across hockey, badminton, cricket, table tennis, wrestling, and squash.

Among the 10 sports featured at the 2026 Glasgow Commonwealth Games, India is expected to win medals in athletics, boxing, judo, lawn bowls, weightlifting, and para-powerlifting. At the previous Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, India won a total of 31 medals including 8 golds across these disciplines.
India had previously secured its highest number of gold medals in wrestling and table tennis; however, neither of these sports is included in the 2026 Glasgow Commonwealth Games. Consequently, this could impact India's overall medal tally.
