After winning the toss and opting to bowl first at Ekana Stadium, the Indian bowlers delivered an outstanding performance, bowling out the entire West Indies team for 171 runs in 19.1 overs. Captain Iyer took charge of the chase as India set out to achieve the challenging target of 172 runs.
India achieved the winning target in just 14.4 overs. Iyer’s explosive, unbeaten knock of 102 runs featured 10 fours and 6 towering sixes. He dominated the West Indies bowlers, scoring runs all around the ground in just 42 balls.

With this blockbuster innings, Shreyas Iyer set a new record for the highest individual score by an Indian captain in a successful T20I run-chase.
Previously, this record was held by former captain Virat Kohli, who scored an unbeaten 94 against the West Indies in Hyderabad in December 2019. Shreyas Iyer has now reached the top of this special list.
