PCB Complains to Sky Sports Over Imran Khan Sons Interview: A major controversy has erupted during the second Test match between England and Pakistan. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially lodged a complaint against the broadcaster, Sky Sports. The dispute arose following the broadcast of a special interview with the sons of former Pakistani Prime Minister and captain Imran Khan during the lunch break.

According to an ESPNcricinfo report, the PCB took a very stern stance as soon as the interview aired. Registering a strong protest, the board even considered refusing to send the team back onto the field after the lunch break. The PCB held the view that airing a segment focused on political or personal matters during a live sports broadcast was entirely inappropriate.

Michael Atherton Conducted Exclusive Interview

Former England captain and current Sky Sports broadcaster Michael Atherton conducted the interview with Imran Khan's sons Sulaiman and Qasim. Imran Khan has been imprisoned for the past three years. During the interview, his sons expressed deep concern regarding their father's health and safety. Sulaiman and Qasim stated that they feared for their father's life and were extremely worried about his well-being.

Sky Sports Aired 18-Minute Segment Despite PCB Warning

According to reports, the PCB had been informed about the segment prior to the lunch break. The board immediately contacted Sky Sports to raise objections and warned that if the interview were aired, the Pakistani players would not take the field after lunch.

Following tense discussions, Sky briefly held off on airing the interview but eventually broadcast the 18-minute segment.

By the time the broadcast concluded, the Pakistan players were preparing to return to the field for the second session at 7:10 PM (IST), thereby averting a major standoff for the time being.
