He completed 50 wickets in his World Cup history by taking the wicket of Sri Lankan team captain Kusal Mendis.
With this, Trent Boult has become the first batsman for New Zealand to take 50 wickets in the World Cup. Till the time of writing this news, Trent Boult has completed 52 wickets in the World Cup. Trent Boult has become only the sixth bowler in the world to take 50 wickets in the World Cup.
He broke the record of Chaminda Vaas of Sri Lanka, who has 49 wickets in his name. At the same time, before him, Wasim Akram (55 wickets), Lasith Malinga (56 wickets), Mitchell Starc (5 wickets), Muttiah Muralitharan (68 wickets), and Glenn McGrath (71 wickets) have also done this feat.
