Announcing his retirement from all three formats of cricket, Murali tweeted,

If we talk about Vijay's Test career, Murali played a total of 61 matches between 2008-2018 and scored 3982 runs during this period, including 12 centuries and 15 half-centuries. Apart from this, Vijay has scored 339 runs in 17 ODIs, in which his high score was 72. At the same time, he scored a total of 169 runs while playing 9 T20 International matches.
