Mohammad Amir Ends IPL Rumors: In the world of cricket, news often emerges that catches fans by surprise. Recently, significant news has surfaced regarding former Pakistani fast bowler Mohammad Amir. Following his acquisition of British citizenship, there was widespread speculation that Amir might soon be seen playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL). However, Amir himself has now put all such rumors to rest once and for all.

33-year-old left-arm fast bowler Mohammad Amir was recently granted British citizenship. Immediately afterward, discussions began within cricketing circles about whether Amir could now become a part of the IPL.

A major reason for this speculation is that, traditionally, players from Pakistan are not permitted to participate in the IPL. Since the inaugural season in 2008, no Pakistani cricketer has taken part in the league. There has, however, been one historical exception: Azhar Mahmood, who was born in Pakistan, held a British passport, which allowed him to play in the IPL for a few seasons. Given this precedent, it was assumed that, with his British citizenship, Amir might also follow a similar path into the IPL.

It is worth noting that the mega auction for players for IPL 2027 is scheduled to take place on December 16. All the franchises are currently finalizing their strategies, and fans had hoped that Mohammad Amir’s name might appear in this year's auction.

However, this firm decision by Amir makes it clear that, for the time being, he has no interest in playing in the IPL. Although his British citizenship technically opened a new path for him, Amir himself has chosen to keep that door closed, based on his own priorities.
