Team India suffered a major setback ahead of the second ODI against England in Cardiff. Wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul could not participate in the match due to illness. Ishan Kishan has been included in the playing XI in his place.

During the toss, Indian captain Shubman Gill explained that Rahul was not playing because he was unwell. Gill added, We also wanted to bowl first.

The team is playing well, and we hope to replicate the performance from our previous victory today. We got off to a fantastic start in the last match (at Edgbaston), and the fast bowlers performed brilliantly. We also have fond memories associated with Cardiff. There is just one change to the team: KL Rahul is unwell, and Ishan Kishan is playing in his place.

It is worth noting that the Indian team has won three out of the four ODI matches played in Cardiff so far, suffering only one defeat; thus, this venue has proven to be lucky for the team.

Meanwhile, England captain Harry Brook won the toss and decided to bowl first. He noted that there was an even covering of grass on the pitch, which could assist the opening bowlers.

Brook mentioned that while his team had made a good effort to take the previous match down to the wire, they were aiming for an even better performance this time around. He also revealed that England had made two changes to their playing XI.
