According to a report by 'Sportstar', Indian selectors have now shifted their focus to the future and have prepared a special pool of 15 young fast bowlers across all three formats. The BCCI plans to strengthen the Indian pace attack using these young bowlers in the coming years.
In recent times, young pacers like Ashok Sharma, Gurnoor Brar, Mayank Yadav, and Prince Yadav have delivered impressive performances. Meanwhile, bowlers such as Rasikh Salam Dar and Kartik Tyagi have also caught the attention of Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar and the selection committee with their pace and precise line and length in the IPL.
The report clearly states that the 35-year-old Shami is no longer part of the board's long-term vision, effectively closing the door on his return to the team.
