KL Rahul scored a century against Punjab Kings: Delhi Capitals opener KL Rahul has wreaked havoc by smashing a century in the match against the Punjab Kings. Rahul completed his 6th IPL century in just 45 balls. There was a moment when Punjab had a chance to dismiss KL Rahul at a personal score of just 12; however, they squandered this opportunity, a lapse KL Rahul capitalized on by going on to score a century. Powered by this century from KL Rahul, the Delhi Capitals appear to be in a commanding position, while Punjab Kings find themselves completely on the back foot.

With his 6th IPL century, KL Rahul has equaled the record held by Chris Gayle. In the list of players with the most centuries in IPL history, KL Rahul has now reached the joint-third position. Both Rahul and Gayle now have an equal tally of 6 centuries each in the IPL.
Consequently, there are now only two players ahead of KL Rahul in terms of the most centuries in the IPL: Virat Kohli and Jos Buttler. Virat Kohli holds the record for the most centuries in IPL history with 8 to his name, while Buttler has crossed the 100-run mark on 7 occasions.
Catch Dropped at 12 Runs
In the third over of the innings, Punjab Kings had an opportunity to dismiss KL Rahul when he was on a personal score of 12. While attempting to pull a short-pitched delivery from Arshdeep Singh, KL Rahul hit the ball straight into the hands of Shashank Singh, who was stationed at square leg. Shashank dropped the catch, granting KL Rahul a lifeline. Rahul made the most of this reprieve by going on to score a century.
