After Dhoni, Aravali Avneesh is the only wicketkeeper in the CSK team. The other batsman of the team who can do wicketkeeping – Devon Conway is already out of the tournament due to injury. The left-handed batsman is expected to miss the opening matches of the season after suffering a thumb injury during New Zealand's T20 series against Australia last month.

Avneesh was part of the Indian team that reached the final of the Under-19 World Cup 2024. CSK had bought Avnish Aravali in the auction for Rs 20 lakh. The 18-year-old wicketkeeper batsman joined the team as a wicketkeeper after playing only two List-A games. The left-handed batsman scored just one run in his List A career at a disappointing average of 0.50.
