IPL 2024: Before the start of the 17th season of IPL, the champion team of 2022 Gujarat Titans has suffered a huge blow. Let us tell you that before the upcoming season, the team's Afghan spinner Noor Ahmed has been banned for 12 months.
But this ban is not imposed on IPL but on International League T20, whose second season has recently ended. Let us tell you that this ban has been imposed on 19-year-old Noor Ahmed by the league's disciplinary committee due to violation of the players' contract.
It is noteworthy that Noor Ahmed plays for Sharjah Warriors in the tournament, but when the franchise asked him to sign the retention paper for the upcoming season, he did not sign it. After this, instead of playing in the second season of International League T20, he was seen playing for Durban Super Giants in SA20.
Let us tell you that the franchise had included Noor Ahmed in its team for the first season of the tournament and after this the franchise tried to extend the player's contract for one more year, but the player did not sign the retention paper.
After this matter came to light, the franchise management had complained to the disciplinary committee of the International League T20. The committee included League chief executive David White and security and anti-corruption chief Colonel Azam.
However, after listening to both sides, Eirates Cricket Board member Zayed Abbas investigated the matter. So, after the evidence presented by Noor Ahmed and Sharjah Warriors, the committee decided to ban the player for 12 months. Let us tell you that earlier this ban was for 20 months, which was later reduced to 12 months.
