Naman Dhir: Naman Dhir, who plays for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL, has delivered a spectacular performance in the Sher-e-Punjab T20 League. Playing for Amritsar, the right-handed batsman scored a century off just 37 balls.
In a destructive innings against Mohali, Dhir reached his century by hitting sixes and fours off 18 of the 37 balls he faced. With this feat, he set the record for the fastest century in the Sher-e-Punjab T20 League.
Previously, this record was held by Anmolpreet Singh, who had achieved the milestone in 39 balls, but Naman has now surpassed him.
Naman Dhir's Rampage
The Amritsar team got off to a disastrous start. Sahaj Dhawan was dismissed for just one run against Mohali, but Naman Dhir appeared to be in a different zone right from the very first ball. He smashed a half-century in just 19 deliveries.
Naman became even more destructive after reaching his fifty; he hammered 30 runs off Lovdeep's over to complete his century. He hit three sixes and two fours in that single over.
Second Century of the Season
This is Naman Dhir's second century in the Sher-e-Punjab T20 League. Previously, he had played an innings of 117 runs off 56 balls against the Jalandhar Warriors. However, against Mohali, he appeared to be batting on a completely different level.
Naman has performed well in the IPL too
Naman Dhir is a key player for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL. The right-handed batsman has scored 710 runs in 37 matches for the team at an average of 27.30. The Mumbai side utilizes him in various batting positions. Naman Dhir boasts an impressive strike rate of over 160. He has also scored three half-centuries in the IPL.
