Indian Cricket Team Injury List Before Sri Lanka Series 2026: The Indian cricket team is currently grappling with a spate of player injuries. The BCCI, national selectors, and team management are deeply concerned about players repeatedly becoming unfit just ahead of the upcoming Sri Lanka series. Currently, 13 key players who are integral to the Indian team's setup and future plans are sidelined due to injuries. Questions are increasingly being raised about the functioning and medical team of the Bengaluru-based 'Centre of Excellence' due to the frequency of player injuries and instances where players suffer fresh injuries immediately after returning to the field following rehabilitation.

Recognizing the seriousness of the matter, BCCI Joint Secretary Devajit Saikia has decided to personally visit the CoE. He will meet with CoE head and former Indian cricketing legend VVS Laxman to hold direct discussions regarding player fitness, recovery processes, and the primary causes of re-injury.

CoE head VVS Laxman has shared important information regarding the continuous monitoring of player fitness.

According to Laxman, a new 'Bronco Test' devised by strength-and-conditioning expert Adrian has been introduced to accurately assess players' fitness during a series.

VVS Laxman's Statement:

"Conducting the traditional Yo-Yo Test is not practical when a player is part of a bilateral or international series. That is why we have introduced the Bronco Test, designed by Adrian, to ensure transparent and continuous monitoring of players' fitness levels even during a series."
