Chasing a target of 207 runs, India needed quick runs in the closing stages. Stepping in to bat in the lower order, Mohammed Siraj played an explosive innings. He scored an unbeaten 32 off just 15 balls featuring one four and four towering sixes (strike rate 213.33) to steer the team to a 6-wicket victory. Saransh Jain remained unbeaten on 2 runs alongside him.

Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal's 100-Run Stand

Captain Shubman Gill, who had missed the first innings due to injury, made a remarkable comeback in the second innings. He scored 44 runs off 54 balls, hitting seven boundaries.
Meanwhile, Yashasvi Jaiswal who had been dismissed for a duck in the first innings displayed an explosive style in the second innings, smashing 61 runs off 46 balls (including 9 fours and 2 sixes) before retiring hurt. Gill and Jaiswal shared a solid 100-run partnership for the first wicket.Earlier, in the first innings, Devdutt Padikkal had played an unbeaten knock of 142 runs off 164 balls, featuring 18 fours. Padikkal's excellent footwork and solid defense appear to be cementing his spot in the playing XI for the upcoming Test series. KL Rahul (40), Rishabh Pant (28), and Ravindra Jadeja (22, retired hurt) also made useful contributions.

Sri Lanka XI declared their second innings at 200/6 in 45 overs, setting a target of 207 runs for India. The Indian bowlers displayed remarkable discipline:
- Mohammed Siraj: Dealt the first blow to Sri Lanka by trapping Ravindu Rasantha (8) LBW in the fifth over.
- Prasidh Krishna: Bowled Pasindu Sooriyabandara (4) in the eighth over.
- Ravindra Jadeja: Dismissed Anjala Bandara (35) and Nipun Dhananjaya (46).
- Gurnoor Brar: Claimed two crucial wickets in the form of Pawan Rathnayake (19) and captain Sonal Dinusha (9).
