IND vs ENG 3rd Test: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday confirmed that off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has rejoined the Indian team for the remaining Test in Rajkot. The fourth day of Rajkot Test play continues between India and England on Sunday.

Let us tell you that Ashwin had left the test midway on Friday and returned to his home. Ashwin had decided to leave the test midway due to a family medical emergency.

Ravichandran Ashwin joins Indian team again in Rajkot

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is happy to announce the return of R Ashwin to the team after a day's absence for a family emergency. Both Ashwin and the team management have confirmed that he will be back in action from Day 4 onwards and will continue to contribute for the team in the ongoing Test match.

The team management, players, media and fans have shown great understanding and empathy and have respected the family's privacy and importance. The team and their fans stood by Ashwin during these challenging times and now everyone is happy to welcome him back on the field. The BCCI has also said that Ashwin and his family still request privacy as they are going through these challenging times.

"BCCI is pleased to announce the return of Ravichandran Ashwin to the squad after being briefly absent due to a family emergency. Ravichandran Ashwin had to temporarily withdraw from the team due to a family emergency after the second day of the third Test in Rajkot."

Ashwin returned home on Friday

Ashwin had decided to withdraw from the third Test on Friday due to family emergency. Just a few hours before that, he had become the second Indian bowler after Anil Kumble to take 500 Test wickets. BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla had given an update about the incident on Saturday and wrote that Ashwin's mother was facing a medical emergency. Rajiv Shukla said- I wish for the speedy recovery of Ashwin's mother. He will have to leave Rajkot Test and go to Chennai to live with his mother.
