ICC suspends USA Cricket for 12 months

America jointly hosted the T20 World Cup last month. During this time, many questions have been raised about America's hosting. The ICC held a meeting in Sri Lanka on Monday and in this meeting, the ICC warned America and suspended it for 12 months. Apart from this, another board has been suspended for 12 months.

ICC suspends USA Cricket for 12 months

American cricket has received a big blow from the ICC. American cricket has been suspended by the ICC for 12 months. The ICC has asked American cricket to improve its working process during this suspension so that it can achieve the results that are expected from it. If this is not done then American cricket will be suspended for a long time.

This decision was taken in the ICC Board meeting held in Colombo, Sri Lanka on Monday. In this meeting, a decision was also taken to review the hosting of the T20 World Cup by the US, which has put many officials of the world organization in trouble.

The ICC has formed a committee for this review

For this review, the ICC has formed a committee which includes Lawson Naido of South Africa, Imran Khawaja of Singapore, Roger Toss of New Zealand. The ICC said in a statement, The ICC Board confirms that the way the T20 World Cup has been hosted will be reviewed. It will be looked at by three directors, including Lawson Naido, Imran Khawaja and Roger Toss, and they will report to the board.

Two officers had resigned

After the T20 World Cup-2024, two ICC officials resigned. Claire Furlong and Chris Tetley left their posts. According to Cricbuzz, although the ICC had said that it was already expected that both would leave their posts.

The ICC said in its statement

In its statement, ICC has said that the administration in the US Cricket Board is not good and therefore it does not fit the current ICC standards. Along with America, Chile Cricket has also been suspended for 12 months. ICC said in the statement, "Both the boards, America Cricket and Cricket Chile, have been officially given a notice of 12 months to improve their functioning and bring themselves up to the standards of ICC membership. Neither of them fits the standards of administration set by the ICC.
