Rishikanta Singh Wins Silver Medal in Weightlifting: Fantastic and proud news has emerged for India from the 2026 Commonwealth Games. On the fourth day of the games, India secured its first silver medal. Young weightlifter Rishikant Singh delivered this major success for the country.
Rishikant won this historic medal in the men's 60kg weightlifting category, marking India's second medal of the competition.

Competing in his debut Commonwealth Games, Rishikant Singh maintained excellent form right from the start. He clinched the silver medal by lifting a total weight of 264 kg.
- Snatch: 121 kg
- Clean & Jerk: 143 kg
- Total Weight Lifted: 264 kg
Rishikant not only won a medal but also etched his name in history during his debut appearance.
Aggressive Attempt for Gold Medal in Final Round
The competition remained thrilling right up to the final moments. In a bid to secure the gold medal, Rishikant Singh made an aggressive attempt to lift 151 kg during his final lift.

Rishikanta Singh Personal Best and Career Highlights
Although Rishikanta lifted a total of 264 kg in Glasgow, his personal best performance to date is even higher.
Career Best Record: Rishikanta achieved his personal best performance at the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships 2025 held in Ahmedabad, lifting a total of 271 kg (120 kg snatch + 151 kg clean and jerk).
