CWG 2026 Controversy: A major controversy has erupted immediately following the conclusion of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. After the competition ended, several athletes from various countries went missing in Scotland instead of returning home with their teams. Given the seriousness of the matter, Police Scotland and the UK Home Office have launched an investigation.
Boxers from Uganda and Pakistan Reported Missing

- Uganda Team: According to 'NBS Sport', four members of the Ugandan boxing team were found missing on August 4, the day the contingent was scheduled to return home.
- Pakistan Team: Pakistani boxer Qudratullah suddenly disappeared from the team hotel after his bout. Most surprising is the fact that his passport was deposited with the team manager, yet he managed to slip away.

Pakistan Boxing Federation's History of Disappearances
This is not the first instance of Pakistani athletes going missing:
- 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games: Boxers Suleman Baloch and Nazirullah Khan went missing despite their passports being held by officials.
- 2024 World Olympic Qualifier: Asian gold medalist Zohaib Rasheed absconded after stealing his roommate's foreign currency and belongings.

Commonwealth Games CEO Phil Batty stated that approximately 3,000 athletes from 74 countries participated in the Games. The organizing committee, in coordination with security, the UK Border Force, and the visa department, had arranged for everyone's safe departure.
