This was Ronaldo's second stint at Manchester United. He came from Italian club Juventus before the start of the 2021-22 season. He spent three years with Juventus before returning to Old Trafford.

The legendary footballer left Manchester United for the first time in the year 2009, where he spent nine wonderful years of his career. After which he joined the Spanish club Real Madrid.

Ronaldo was facing severe criticism after his recent interview with British journalist Piers Morgan.

In the interview, Ronaldo criticized the club on many issues. He also alleged that some owners of the club were trying to 'force him out'. Ronaldo's decision to part ways with United appears to have come as a result of this explosive interview.
