- Tanzid Hasan's First Test Century in Australia: Tanzid Hasan played a gritty innings of 101 runs. He became the first Bangladeshi batsman to score a Test century on Australian soil in the nation's 26-year Test history. Previously, only Shahriar Nafees had scored a century against Australia, back in 2006 (at Fatullah).
- Key Partnerships by Mominul, Tanzid, and Shanto: Bangladesh resumed play on Day 2 from a score of 96/1. Mominul Haque (49 runs) missed out on a half-century but shared a 102-run partnership with Tanzid for the second wicket. Subsequently, captain Najmul Hossain Shanto (84) and Tanzid added 93 runs for the third wicket.
