So, who exactly is Gen Z? The term refers to Generation Z specifically, athletes in the Indian contingent born between 1997 and 2012. There is a long list of such athletes across various Indian sports who, having already made their mark at the 2026 Commonwealth Games, are now eager to shine at the Asian Games.
Let us take a look at the Gen Z athletes who could replicate their Commonwealth Games success at the Asian Games and bring glory to India. This group includes athletes such as Sakshi Chaudhary (Boxing), Preeti Pawar (Boxing), Sachin (Boxing), Arundhati Chaudhary (Boxing), Gyaneshwari Yadav (Boxing), Jaismine (Boxing), Asmita Dey (Judo), and Harsh Singh (Judo). Born between 1997 and 2012, they will form India's Gen Z contingent at the Asian Games.

Apart from these athletes, there are other Gen Z players who were not part of the Indian contingent at the Commonwealth Games simply because their respective sports were not featured there. However, they could well be the ones to make the Tricolour fly high with pride at the Asian Games.
Leading this group of athletes is India’s star squash player, Anahat Singh. The 18-year-old has already declared her intention to win the gold medal at the Asian Games.
India won 106 medals at the last Asian Games, comprising 28 gold, 38 silver, and 40 bronze. It is expected that, driven by its 'Gen Z power,' India will surpass the 106-medal mark this time.
