Asian Games 2026: Indian golfer Pranavi Urs scripted a historic chapter in Indian sports by winning the gold medal in the women’s individual golf event at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games. Her outstanding performance made her the first Indian woman golfer to win an individual gold medal at the Asian Games.
Pranavi finished the competition with an impressive 15-under 265 to top the leaderboard and secure the gold medal. China’s Yin Ruoning claimed silver, while Singapore’s Shannon Tan finished with the bronze medal.

India Clinches Silver in Women’s Golf Team Event
India also added a silver medal in the women’s team golf event at the Asian Games 2026.
The Indian team featured Pranavi Urs, Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar. The team standings were decided using the scores of the two best-performing golfers from each country.
India recorded a combined score of 14-under 546 to finish second. China won the team gold with a total of 22-under 538.
Aditi Ashok delivered a strong final round of 67 and finished joint 14th in the individual standings with an overall score of 2-over 282. Diksha Dagar finished joint 23rd after recording a total score of 12-over.

Pranavi Urs’ gold medal has ended India’s long wait for another Asian Games golf gold.
