India has created history at the Asian Games 2026 after the women’s recurve archery team defeated South Korea 5-3 in the final to win the gold medal. Kirti, Kumkum and Ankita showed remarkable composure under pressure to secure India’s 11th gold medal of the Games.

The first set ended with both teams level at 54-54. Neither side managed to gain an advantage, setting up another tense second set.
The second set was equally competitive, with India and South Korea once again finishing level at 56-56.
With the scores tied, the third set became extremely important for India's gold medal hopes.

India produced its strongest performance of the final in the third set. The Indian team scored 55 points, while South Korea managed 51.
The 55-51 win gave India two valuable set points and put the team ahead 4-2.
With only one set remaining, India was within touching distance of a historic gold medal. However, South Korea remained a major threat and the Indian archers still had to handle the pressure of the decisive stage.
Kumkum’s Perfect 10 Seals Historic Gold
The final set delivered another tense contest as India looked to close out the match without allowing South Korea to force a shoot-off.

Kumkum held her nerve and produced a crucial 10-point shot.
