A scammer poses as MS Dhoni to fraud cricket fans

There are a lot of MS Dhoni followers online and cricket fever is on the increase, so it's crucial to be wary of a scam that's going around on social media. Scammers are taking advantage of the cricket craze by impersonating MS Dhoni and asking followers for 600.

One such instance that has gained notice is a con artist posing as MS Dhoni and demanding money. A user on Instagram received a message that said, 'Hello, I'm MS Dhoni, messaging you from my private account,' as seen in a screenshot that was posted on social media. Right now, I'm outside of Ranchi, and I can't find my wallet. Please provide me with 600 using PhonePe so I may take the bus back to my house. After I get home, I will send the money back.'

The tweet has 330.1K views on X after becoming viral. On the widely shared post, users also left comments.

'Whistle podu at where dude has proven authenticity, a user said.

In jest, one person said, 'Looks real, where is the QR?'

Another user commented, 'Kya Kya Dekhna pad rha hai.

'Scammer provided two factor authentication,' another person wrote. Whistle podu after taking a selfie.
