Lincoln Financial Field is an American football stadium located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S. It serves as the home stadium for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL) and the Temple Owls football team of Temple University. The stadium is situated in South Philadelphia on Pattison Avenue, between 11th and South Darien Streets, alongside Interstate 95. It is part of the South Philadelphia Sports Complex and has a seating capacity of 67,594 people. The stadium opened on August 3, 2003. Its construction took two years, having commenced on May 7, 2001. It replaced Veterans Stadium, which opened in 1971 and served as the home field for both the Eagles and the Philadelphia Phillies until 2002 and 2003, respectively. Although the total seating capacity remains the same as that of Veterans Stadium, the new stadium features double the number of luxury and wheelchair-accessible seats, as well as more modern amenities. The construction of the venue incorporated several LED video displays and LED ribbon boards spanning over 624 feet (190 meters) in length.[6]
