WPL 2024 Winner: The second season of the Women's Premier League (WPL 2024) ended with Smriti Mandhana-captained Royal Challengers Bangalore's (RCB) 8-wicket win against Delhi Capitals (DC). RCB, bowling first, reduced Delhi Capitals to 64 runs without any loss and bundled them out for just 113 runs in 18.3 overs. After this, history was won by achieving the target of 114 runs with 3 balls and 8 wickets remaining. RCB's men's or women's team was successful in winning a tournament for the first time in its 17-year history. The 17-year wait for the title ended on Sunday at the Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium in New Delhi. 21-year-old Shreyanka Patil, playing for RCB, was the highest wicket-taker in the Women's Premier League 2024 and won the Purple Cap. Shreyanka took maximum 13 wickets in 8 innings of 8 matches with an average of 12.07 and economy of 7.30. Indian women's team all-rounder Deepti Sharma, playing for UP Warriors, was selected as the Most Valuable Player of the tournament.
