Image: Team India win a dominant match over England and climbs to top spot
India defeated England by an innings and 64 runs in the fifth and final Test of the series on Saturday at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala, extending their lead at the top of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2023–25 points table.
India opened the game with a 259-run advantage and went on to win handily. Playing in his 100th Test match, R. Ashwin took four wickets in the first innings and then five in the second. Ashwin's 36th five-wicket haul overtook Anil Kumble's record for the most five-fors for India.
Team India Remains in Top spot on the Points Table
Team India has won the series 4-1 against England and is now at the top of the points table with an easy way into the finals from now on. Not to be eased as lots of cricket is still left in the WTC 2024–25 cycle, but still, looking at this form, team India is on top and will remain till the finals.
