This partnership was the biggest ODI partnership for Sri Lanka.

Dimuth Karunaratne also completed his 1000 runs in ODIs with this. He became the 35th Sri Lankan batsman to do so. At the same time, Dimuth's name has been added to Sri Lanka's record of scoring more than 50 runs in ODI innings for any consecutive year. In the year 2023, Dimuth has scored more than 50 runs in ODIs for a total of 5 times for Sri Lanka.
Dimuth Karunaratne has become the first player to score 3 centuries against Ireland in international cricket. He achieved this feat by scoring a century in the qualifier match. Whereas, Dimuth Karunaratne became the oldest Sri Lankan (35 years 65 days) to score his maiden ODI century at the age of 35. Before him, Thilan Samaraweera (32 years 351 days) had done this feat from Sri Lanka.
