Indian captain Rohit Sharma has achieved a big achievement during the ongoing first Test match against England. Rohit Sharma got a chance to bat in the third session of the first day of the Test match being played in Hyderabad. Captain Rohit Sharma played an inning of 24 runs in 27 balls. Rohit along with Yashasvi Jaiswal also made a partnership of 80 runs for the first wicket. Thanks to this innings, Rohit Sharma has become the fourth batsman to score the most international runs for India.
Rohit Sharma left behind former captain Sourav Ganguly. Rohit Sharma has scored 18,444 runs in 468 matches, while Sourav Ganguly has scored 18,433 runs in 421 matches. The record of scoring most international runs for India is in the name of great batsman Sachin Tendulkar. He has scored 34,357 runs in 664 matches. He has 100 centuries and 164 half-centuries to his name. Virat Kohli is at number two in this list. He has scored 26,733 runs in 522 matches. Kohli has 80 centuries and 139 half-centuries to his name.
At the end of the first day's play, India had scored 119 runs for one wicket in 23 overs. Young batsman Jaiswal, who was looking in excellent form, was out on the second day after scoring 80 runs in 74 balls, which included 10 fours and three sixes. Whereas Shubman Gill scored 23 runs. Captain Rohit Sharma returned after catching England captain Ben Stokes off the ball of spinner Jack Leach. Rohit scored 24 runs in 27 balls with the help of three fours.
