Sri Lankan mystery spinner Ajantha Mendis is one of the highest wicket-takers in T20 World Cup. Known for his unorthodox bowling style and a wide range of variations, Mendis took 35 wickets in just 21 T20 World Cup matches. He played just three T20 World Cups and won the title in 2014.
Saeed Ajmal played a key role in Pakistan's success in the 2009 T20 World Cup in England. The clever off-spinner picked up 12 wickets in just seven innings on seam-friendly English pitches and conceded just 23 runs in four overs against a strong South African side in the semi-final. Ajmal picked up a few more wickets in T20 World Cups until his last international appearance in 2015. The Pakistan spinner picked up 36 wickets in 23 T20 World Cup innings at an average of 16.86 and an economy of just 6.79.
