As the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) gears up for its 10th season, the anticipation and excitement is at an all-time high. PKL Season 10 will start on 2nd December 2023. Arjun Deshwal was the standout raider for last season's champion Jaipur Pink Panthers. The last edition's MVP had a memorable season as he scored 296 raid points - the most by any player. He took the pressure off the other raiders of the team and led the attack from the front. He showed complete dominance in attack throughout the campaign and the brilliant raider not only led the raid point scorer charts for Season 9, but he also recorded the most Super 10s (17) last year. His consistency could prove vital for his team in the upcoming season.
The Dubki King Pardeep Narwal was formidable in the attack for U.P. Yoddhas in the last edition of PKL. He finished the season with 220 raid points and was a key man for the Yoddhas in attack. Pardeep Narwal averaged 10 raid points per match last season and took the onus in attack on himself in difficult situations. He is known for his power packed performances while raiding and is expected to put on a show in the upcoming season.
Sachin was an unstoppable force for the Pirates in Season 9. He was the best raider for Patna Pirates and amassed 176 raid points. The talismanic raider has the ability to perform in tough situations and notched up 67 do-or-die raid points - the most by any raider last season. He was the go-to man for his team whenever they needed to revive a player. A graceful player on the mat when on top of his game, he can prove to be vital for the Pirates once again in PKL Season 10.
The Season 9 PKL-winning captain Sunil Kumar has an abundance of experience of playing in Pro Kabaddi. He was rock solid in defence for Jaipur Pink Panthers last year and was the best cover defender in the season with 64 tackle points. He led the team by example and gave youngsters the opportunity as well as confidence to express themselves on the mat. Sunil is also regarded as one the best captains in Pro Kabaddi history and will once again have a key role to play in Jaipur Pink Panthers’ title defence in Season 10.
Rinku was the most impressive defender for U Mumba in the previous season. He secured 59 tackle points in the campaign and kept opposition raiders quiet to a great extent. Rinku also led the defence in the absence of Surinder Singh and did a good job as a captain. With seven Super Tackles last campaign, he featured in the top 5 defenders’ list for most Super Tackle points scored in Pro Kabaddi Season 9. He’s once again likely to play a major role in defence for the Mumboys in the upcoming season.
UP Yoddhas, known for its formidable raiding lineup, introduces Gagan Gowda as a promising addition to the squad. Amidst renowned raiders like Pardeep Narwal and Surender Gill, Gowda's selection reflects the team's focus on nurturing young talent. As a backup raider, Gowda's agility and knack for scoring under pressure make him one to watch. If given consistent opportunities, the young raider could shine as a valuable asset for UP Yoddha.
Puneri Paltan boasts a seasoned defensive lineup, and in the mix is Vaibhav Kamble, a left-corner defender. Despite the team's array of experienced defenders, Kamble's inclusion signals a strategic move by Puneri Paltan. With the stalwart Shadloui in the lineup, providing Kamble with opportunities could prove fruitful. Jaipur Pink Panthers secured the services of Abhijeet Malik during the auction, adding depth to their raiding arsenal. As a backup raider, Malik's performance in the upcoming season remains to be seen. Dabang Delhi, the champions of the 8th season, welcomed Himmat Antil into their ranks. Antil, a promising young player with a commendable domestic record, is set to don the Delhi jersey. Haryana Steelers pin their hopes on the talented Naveen Kundu for PKL 10. Having been part of the team in the previous season, Kundu showcased his strength in limited opportunities, scoring 9 points.
