Tokyo Olympics 2020 Day 7 Live Updates:
It is going to be an action-packed day for the Indian contingent with many athletes one win away from increasing India’s medal tally. There has been no additions to the medal count since Mirabai Chanu won the historic silver medal in weightlifting. Deepika Kumari held her nerves in a shoot-off against Ksenia Perova to book a quarterfinal spot against An San. With athletics kickstarting on Friday, Avinash Sable bettered his own national record. He however missed the steeplechase final. Meanwhile, it was all over for Manu Bhaker and Rahi Sarnobat, who were both out of medal contention in 25m pistol event.
In other events, PV Sindhu takes on Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi in her quarterfinal match. Lovlina Borgohain will lock horns with Chinese Taipei’s Nien-Chin Chen in her quarterfinal bout as well. India begin its athletics campaign as MP Jabir and Dutee Chand will compete in 400m Hurdles and 100m round one races. After qualifying for the hockey quarter-finals with an emphatic 3-1 win over Argentina, Manpreet Singh-led India will take on hosts Japan in their group stage game. On the other hand, Rani Rampal-led India will be looking for their first win when they take on Ireland.

How to watch live telecast of Tokyo Olympics 2021 in India

Sony Sports Network has won the rights for a live broadcast of the Tokyo Olympics in India. Sony TEN 1 HD/SD, Sony TEN 2 HD/SD will live broadcast the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics with English Commentary while Hindi Commentary will be available on Sony TEN 3 HD/SD.

Currently 11th in the standings, Manu Bhaker has failed to qualify for the finals. The youngster scored 582, but it wasnt enough to seal a top-eight spot.

Can Manu Bhaker and Rahi Sarnobat shine for India?

The 25m Pistol Womens Qualification has already begun. Manu Bhakar and Rahi Sarnobat will be headlining India in this event.
The duo will be attempting 30 shots each in the rapid qualification. After the precision qualification round, Bhaker is fifth and Sarnobat is 25th.
he top eight will qualify for the final.

Avinash Mukund Sable misses out on qualification!

Sable finished in seventh position in the Mens 3000m Steeplechase Round 1 - Heat 2 and misses out on the final.
Kenyas Abraham Kibiwot was first, followed by Ethiopias Getnet Wale and Italy Ahmed Abdelwahed. Only the first three in each heat qualify for the final, and the next six fastest!

Also, Sable clocked 8:18:12, thereby breaking the national record.

Deepika Kumari sealed a 10 in her shoot-off, with her ROC opponent scoring a paltry 7. Deepika wins this encounter, with a total score of 6-5!

Archery: Deepika vs Perova

Deepika Kumari kicks off proceedings against Russian Ksenia Perova for a place in the quarters. The later rounds will follow through the day depending on progress, but the quarterfinals are from 11:15 AM to 12:00 PM. The semifinals are at 12:15 and 12:30 PM, the bronze medal match is at 1:00 PM and the gold medal match is at 1:15 PM.

Rules: A set win gets you two points, drawing a set gives you one point each.

Shooting: Rahi fails to make it to final

Rahi Sarnobats chances of making it to the 25m Pistol Women final over! She finishes Rapid with 286 - 96, 94 and 96. She had shot 287 in Precision. Rahi Sarnobat finishes with a 96, bringing her total up to 573.
