T20 World Cup 2022 will start on 16 October and will end on 13 November. T20 World Cup 2022 cricket will be organized in Australia. Sri Lanka Cricket has announced its squad for the ICC T20 World Cup to be held in Australia. Recently, the selectors have expressed confidence in the players of the team that won the Asia Cup with a strong performance. The 15-member squad was announced on Friday, apart from this 5 players have been kept on standby.
The Sri Lanka Cricket Board has announced its team for the 2022 T20 World Cup (2022 T20 World Cup) to be played in Australia in October-November. However, 2 injured players have also found a place in the World Cup squad. In the hands of Dasun Shanka, the team will be in command during the T20 World Cup. The selectors have selected the team for the T20 World Cup, taking the players of this team that made a big difference in the Asia Cup. The decision on whether to play two players of the team, Dushmanta Chamira and Lahiru Kumara in the team will be taken after attaining fitness. Both of them are expected to be fit by the tournament.

The Sri Lankan team has not got a direct entry in the T20 World Cup. To make it to the main event, the team will have to advance to the first qualifiers. The team is placed in Group A along with Namibia, Netherlands, and UAE. The team will play its first match against Namibia on 16 October.

Sri Lanka Schedule for ICC T20 World Cup 2022 - Sri Lanka will play all their first-round matches at the Simonds Stadium in Geelong. They will face Namibia on 16 October, UAE (their only day-nighter) on 18 October, and the Netherlands on 20 October. If they win the match and finish on top of this group, they will be placed in Group 1 along with Australia, England, New Zealand and Afghanistan. And if they finish second, they will be included in Group 2 comprising India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and South Africa. And if the match is not won, then team Sri Lanka will have to return home after playing only three matches.
