Sunrisers Hyderabad has included Sri Lankan leg-spinner Vijayakanth Vyaskanth in the team in place of Sri Lankan player Wanindu Hasaranga. Hyderabad has added Vijayakanth for a base price of Rs 50 lakh. Vijaykant was associated with Rajasthan Royals team last season as a net bowler.
Hasaranga was officially ruled out of IPL 2024 on Saturday due to persistent pain in the heel of his left foot. He was not associated with the team. Hasaranga joined Hyderabad for the base price of Rs 1.50 crore only.
Vijayakanth is the youngest player to play in the Sri Lanka Premier League. He played for Jaffna Stallions in the Sri Lanka Premier League in 2020. At that time his age was 18 years 364 days.
Vijayakanth made his T-20 debut with the Sri Lankan team in the Asian Games held in China last year. While playing a T-20 match against Sri Lanka, he took 1 wicket at an economy rate of 7.
At the same time, MI has played for the title-winning Emirates Emirates side in the ILT20 held in UAE this year. He took eight wickets in 4 matches at an economy of 5.43.
Whereas played for Chattogram Challengers in Bangladesh Premier League. Vijaykant has taken 42 wickets at an economy of 6.76 in 33 T-20s played so far.
