A Dravid made a mark at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru yet again and showcased his batting prowess. This time it was the son of former India skipper and ex-head coach Samit who impressed the fans with his mesmerizing six on August 17, Friday during the Maharaja Trophy match. This happened during the T20 match between Mysuru Warriors and Bengaluru Blasters. Samit, representing Mysuru Warriors, smashed a terrific six, facing opposition pacer Gneshwar Naveen in the seventh over of the innings.
However, Samit was dismissed on the very next delivery. The 18-year-old headed back to the dressing room after scoring just seven runs from seven balls. His short stay at the crease consisted of just one maximum. However, he left the fans in awe with his six-hitting prowess and the video soon went viral on X. He had come to the crease after the dismissal of SU Karthik in the fifth over.
Samit Dravid, son of Rahul Dravid, was signed by Mysuru Warriors during the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 player auction. The last season's runner-up, Mysuru Warriors, secured the services of Samit, a middle-order batsman and seamer, for Rs 50,000. Samit is an 18-year-old all-rounder, capable of bowling medium pace and batting in the middle order. He was also part of the Karnataka Under-19 team that won the 2023-24 Cooch Behar Trophy. Additionally, he represented Karnataka State Cricket Association XI in a three-day game against the visiting Lancashire side in Alur.
