Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma has reached the second position in the latest ODI rankings released by the International Cricket Council (ICC). He performed well in the ODI series against the Sri Lankan cricket team earlier this month, which has benefited him in the latest rankings. Rohit surpassed his opening partner Shubman Gill with 765 rating points. Gill has now reached the third position. Three Indians are included in the top-10. Babar Azam remains at the top.
Rohit was the highest run scorer in the ODI series against Sri Lanka. He scored 157 runs in 3 matches at an average of 52.33 and a strike rate of 141.44. Meanwhile, he also scored 2 half-centuries. His scores in the three matches of that series were 58, 64 and 35 runs. Apart from him, most of the Indian batsmen disappointed and India lost the series 0-2. The first match of the series was a tie.
