Afghanistan tour of Sri Lanka, The three-match ODI series between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan begins on Friday, June 2, with the first ODI being played in Hambantota. The second ODI of this series will be played on Sunday, June 4 in Hambantota only. After the conclusion of the ODI series against Sri Lanka, the Afghanistan team will travel to Bangladesh to play the one-off Test in Chattogram.
Afghanistan's team has suffered a major setback before the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. In fact, the team's most successful bowler Rashid Khan has been ruled out of the first two ODIs. Afghanistan's veteran spinner Rashid Khan has suffered a lower back injury due to which he will not be able to play. The star match-winner is expected to make a comeback in the third and final ODI to be played in Hambantota on June 7.
Rashid's injury will see the trio of Mohammad Nabi, Mujeeb Ur Rahman and young spinner Noor Ahmed take up additional responsibility in the spin department. Hashmatullah Shahidi will be seen leading the team. The Afghanistan Cricket Board also gave an update on Rashid's injury in a statement. The board has said that "he will remain under full medical supervision and is expected to return for the final ODI on June 7."
