Indian team cricketer Prithvi Shaw became a victim of fans' anger in Mumbai. Prithvi refused to give selfies to fans at a five-star hotel in Mumbai, following which angry fans vandalized the cricketer's friend's car.
Prithvi Shaw Attacked For Denying Selfie, According to a media report, Prithvi Shaw was not present inside the car at the time of the incident and the police have registered a complaint against the accused Sapna Gill and Shobhit Thakur. The incident took place on Wednesday night at the Mansion Club of Sahara Star Hotel in Mumbai. It was reported in the report that a group of accused demanded selfie from Prithvi Shaw inside the hotel, the cricketer then accepted their request.
When the accused demanded a selfie from Prithvi Shaw for the second time, the cricketer refused and the manager asked him to leave the premises. The fans could not tolerate this and were waiting outside the hotel for Prithvi Shaw and his friend to leave. They vandalized the friend's car as they were assuming that Prithvi Shaw was inside the car. After this, the accused made the friend's car stand at Lotus Petrol Pump on Jogeshwari Link Road.
The accused then smashed the car window with a baseball bat and assaulted Shaw's friend. The accused also blackmailed the friend for Rs 50,000. It was learned from the sources that Shaw had gone in a separate car from the hotel and was safe from the assault.

The cricketer's friend immediately informed the Oshiwara Police Station, where his complaint was registered along with the statement. Police said that they are probing the incident and have arrested Sana Gill and Shobhit Thakur under IPC sections 384, 143, 148, 149, 427, 504 and 506.
Prithvi Shaw recently returned to the Indian team for the T20 International series against New Zealand. However, he did not get a chance to play the match.
