To lead Oman in the next T20 World Cup, which is scheduled to take place in June of this year, Aqib Ilyas, who made his debut in 2015, was appointed as deputy captain. Zeeshan Maqsood, the former captain who led his team to the ACC Men's T20I Premier Cup 2024 final, has a slot reserved. The batters batting below Ilyas and Maqsood are Naseem Khushi, wicketkeeper-batter Pratik Athavale, and Ayaan Khan. Kashyap Prajapati, an Indian-born batsman, scored an incredible 103 runs off 97 balls in a losing effort against Zimbabwe during the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers in 2023.
